oogiebear is an FDA-approved medical device with two unique tips that allow for effective and safe baby earwax removal and booger removal. oogiebear is mostly constructed of a soft rubber that’s easy for parents to hold, yet gentle enough for baby. The firmer plastic tips were intentionally designed to be more effective in removing those dry, crusty boogies. Though a softer silicone may seem preferable, focus group testing (yes…we take our boogers very seriously!) confirmed that this was far less effective at booger removal. The oogiebear is also latex, lead and phthalate free!

While cotton swabs seem like a good resource for little noses and boogers, they are not best for baby. Cotton swabs sometimes work, but they’re not effective in pulling the dry and sticky stuff out. In fact, they often push the boogers further into the nose, making it harder to reach, and creating more discomfort for baby. Also, a cotton swab may start to unravel leaving cotton fibers in baby’s nostrils further aggravating the situation.

Aspirator bulbs sometimes work for wet boogers, but they’re not effective on the dry and sticky stuff. In fact, they often push the boogers further into the nose, making it harder to reach, and creating more discomfort for baby. Saline mist can also be effective, but who wants to spray a wet mist inside a sleeping baby’s nose in the middle of the night? If your baby is breathing easy and sleeping well…so are you!

oogiebear is easy to clean! Simply rinse under warm water using a mild soap to clean and then air dry for continued use. We do not recommend the oogiebear to be dish-washed or microwaved.
